Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 5, 2026

This policy explains what information Pano Tuner (“we”, “this site”) does and does not collect when you use the tuner and read the Journal, and the choices you have.

Microphone audio

The tuner requests microphone access solely to detect the pitch of the notes you play. All audio processing happens locally in your browser. Microphone audio is analyzed in real time and immediately discarded. It is never recorded, stored, uploaded, or transmitted to us or to anyone else. Revoking microphone permission in your browser stops all audio access instantly; the tuner’s reference-tone features continue to work without it.

Data stored on your device

The tuner saves your settings — reference pitch, temperament, transposition, sensitivity — in your browser’s local storage so they persist between visits. This data stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and can be cleared at any time through your browser’s site-data settings.

Advertising

This site shows no advertising and sets no advertising cookies. We don’t use ad networks, and nothing here builds an advertising profile of you or shares your data with advertisers.

Analytics

We may use aggregate, privacy-respecting analytics to understand which guides are read and how the site performs (page views, approximate region, device type). We do not use this data to identify individuals.

Information you send us

If you email us via the contact page, we receive your email address and message. We use them only to respond, and we don’t add you to any mailing list or share your address.

Children

This site is a general-audience music tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be noted prominently.
